What Kairos Graduates are Saying...

"I didn't have a mustard seed before Kairos and now I've got a tree!"

"I've locked myself up for the four years that I've been here. I went to church regularly but I was chasing a distant savior.  In Kairos, I discovered that He is in me."

"It's a shame I had to come to prison to find out what Christianity is all about."

"One thing I'm taking with me (from Kairos) is forgiveness...for me and my father."

"I came full of hate and resentment.  I'm going out (of the Kairos weekend) with love, a new Spirit...Christ within me."

Prison Orientation should be done ASAP to assure entrance for all sessions. It is advisable to go to the orientation at least 2 months before the weekend and preferably 3 months before. See the dates as listed below. PLEASE NOTE THAT VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT TO WEAR SHORTS OR BLUE JEANS TO THE VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION.

Kairos Monthly Reunions:

Yard 1 - First Tuesday

Yard 3 - Third Saturday

The only reason for canceling a reunion is when the yard is “down”. Otherwise, plan on it happening.  To verify that a particular yard is “up” for the reunion, call 619-661-6500 ext. 6683. That is the number for the staff entrance, and someone is always there, and they should be able to confirm “regular” program or controlled movement for each yard.  It is important that you identify yourself as a Kairos Volunteer.
